This week we are reviewing the sight words are, for and you. We will also be reviewing the letters Hh, Dd and Rr. In math we will finish our unit on composing and decomposing numbers 11-19. We will then continue on to measurement.
Looking ahead, Monday February 10 is an early out day. AM kindergarten will be from 9:00 to 10:30 and PM kindergarten will be from 10:45 to 12:45. PM parents, please do not bring your child early that day. I would rather they be late than early because those 15 minutes in between each class is the ONLY time I have to get everything ready. Thank you! Also, there will still be Star class for the kids that stay all day long --they will be in school from 9:00 to 12:45.
Also looking ahead, there will be no school on Monday February 17 due to Presidents Day. The following week of February 24 - 28 is SEP (parent-teacher conferences) week. There will be NO KINDERGARTEN on Monday February 24 or Tuesday February 25. The rest of the week will be Friday Early Out schedule --AM will come from 9:00 to 10:40 and PM will come from 11:35 to 1:15. If you need a special date/time for your child's SEP please let me know ASAP.
Our class Valentine's Day party will be on Friday February 14. I have sent a note home explaining that each child needs to bring a shoe box decorated for the party. This box will be where we store all of our Valentine's. To save you time and sanity, please only write your child's name on the FROM portion and leave the TO portion blank! We have 20 kids in the AM and 19 kids in the PM.
The first week in March will be Dr Seuss week (more info to come down the road) and the second week in March (March 10-14) will be Spring Break!
