We are starting a new unit in literacy this week! We will be learning about the sight word to and the letter Nn. In math we will finish our unit on composing and decomposing numbers to 10. A big thank you to those who have been working on their numbers 0-20 (both writing and recognizing them out of order)! If you are not practicing those numbers with your child, please do so! It is very important with this new math program that they be familiar with them!
Today, Friday November 8, I placed in your child's red homework folder or in their backpack an SEP (parent-teacher conference) notification. It is important that you read it and return it to me ASAP. You need to check off either yes, you can attend the scheduled date and time OR no, you need to reschedule. Then you need to sign it and write your number down so that I can call you to reschedule. SEPs are right around the corner so in order to accommodate everyone I need to know right away that you are okay with your scheduled time. Thanks!
One more reminder that the week of SEPs (November 18-22) will be on a different schedule! There will be NO KINDERGARTEN on Monday and Tuesday. Then Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be shortened Friday schedule: AM kindergarten will be from 9:00 to 10:40 and PM kindergarten will be from 11:35 to 1:15. Note: for those of you who have a student in all day kindergarten (Star Class) your child will come to school only Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of that week. They will have Star Class on Wednesday and Thursday but not Friday. So on Wednesday and Thursday they will come to school from 9:00 to 1:15 and on Friday they will come from 9:00 to 10:40.
The week following SEPs will be Thanksgiving. There will only be school on Monday November 25 and Tuesday November 26 --and both days will be a regular schedule days.
If you have any questions or concerns please let me know! Thank you! jenny.jacobson@washk12.org or 668-5027
