Newsletter for October 13 - 15

This week we are using at a review week of ALL the sight words and letters we've learned so far.  We will also be talking about the vowels.  In math we will finish our unit on numbers 0-10 and move onto teen numbers.  Please continue practicing with your child the number writing.

Hopefully most of you noticed the note and envelope inside your child's folder for our class party donations.  If you can, it would be SO helpful to have each of you donate $5.  It is a one time donation that will help us with our 3 major parties: Halloween, Christmas and Valentine's.  Please send that donation back to me as soon as possible so that we can start purchasing things needed for Halloween!

Because it is a short week we will have NO CENTER parent volunteers.  We will also have no student Leader of the Week.  Both of those will resume the following week of October 20.

Looking ahead, I like to celebrate our 50th day of Kindergarten each year by having a 50s Day!  The kids get to dress up in their coolest 50s attire and we make some fun paper dolls and do some writing too.  I will send out a note to tell you more but just a heads up: 50s Day will be on Wednesday October 29!  I hope everyone will dressed up!  Each year the kids love it and have so much fun!

Friday October 31 will be our Halloween parade and class party!  Please make sure your child is already dressed in their costume --they will be wearing them all day.  The AM parade will be at 9:15 AM followed by their party and the PM parade will be at 12 noon followed by their party.

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know!  Thank you for your help and support!  jenny.jacobson@washk12.org or 668-5027
