Newsletter for April 7 - 11

This week we are starting a new unit in Literacy.  We will be learning about the sight words: he and she.  And we will learn about the letters Gg and Ww as well.  In math, we will finish discussing 2D shapes and move onto 3D shapes.

Monday April 14 is an early out day.  AM kindergarten will be from 9:00 to 10:30 and PM kindergarten will be from 10:45 to 12:45.  Then we will have NO SCHOOL on Friday April 18 and Monday April 21.  The following Monday April 28 will be another early out day that will follow the same schedule as April 14.

Don't forget that Thursday April 17 will be our Easter Egg Hunt.  I do not need parents help, but we are still in need of donations of both eggs and candy.  If you could send to school with your child 10 eggs (already filled with candy) in the next week that would be wonderful!  The more we get, the more the kids can each find.

Please start thinking about when you would like to schedule your child's post-assessment in May.  I will be assessing individually by appointment the week of May 12 to 16.  There will be NO KINDERGARTEN that entire week.  Each appointment should take about 45 minutes.  If you already have a date or time in mind, please let me know ASAP.  I will try to honor your request as best I can.

Also, our Kindergarten Graduation will be on Friday May 9.  Parents and other family members are all welcome to come.  It will be in our classroom and will be about 20 - 30 minutes long.  Then afterward we will serve some refreshments and you will be able to take your child home.  The AM graduation will be from 9:15-9:45 (more or less) and the PM graduation will be from 12:00-12:30 (more or less).

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.  Thank you!  jenny.jacobson@washk12.org or 668-5027
