This week is a review week in literacy. We are reviewing the sight words: he, she, has and look. We are also reviewing the letters Gg, Ww, Vv, and Xx. In math we are continuing to work on addition and subtraction.
Next week on Monday April 28 we will have another early out Monday. AM kindergarten will be from 9:00 to 10:30 and PM kindergarten will be from 10:45 to 12:45. This will be our last early out Monday of the school year! That same Monday will be our Relay for Life in PE. If you have any coins/change you would like to donate, bring it in that day. Thank you!
The week before assessments, May 5 - 9, is going to be a thematic week. Each day will be a different "theme" and all our activities that day will be centered around that theme. Here's the schedule to give you a heads up!
Monday May 5 Bubble Day! Each child should bring a small bottle of bubbles for our activities. Plus we will be blowing bubble gum bubble too.
Tuesday May 6 Circus Day! We are all going to dress up like clowns. Then we will do some circus activities.
Wednesday May 7 Popcorn Day! I am going to need donations of the following kinds of flavors: butter, cheddar, plain, kettle and caramel. As it gets closer, I will ask specific parents for specific kinds. We will also watch a short little movie that day.
Thursday May 8 Ice Cream Day! I will provide the ice cream for a small ice cream bar and we will do some activities about ice cream.
Friday May 9 will be our kindergarten graduation so we won't have any themes that day. Then when we come back from post-assessments, on Monday May 19 we will be going to Staheli Farms. So our last theme day will be on Tuesday May 20.
Tuesday May 20 Beach Day! Students will bring a beach towel and we will lay them out on the grass and read books. We will have Popsicles and do some other fun beach activities.
As each theme day gets closer I will send notes home or texts to remind you! We did these days last year and the kids LOVED them! I hope they will enjoy them this year too!
Just in case you did not know, our LAST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN will be Wednesday May 21! It will be a regular schedule day. I cannot believe we have less than 25 days left in the school year! How time flies when you are having fun!
